MINISTRY FOR RACIAL JUSTICE AND EQUALITY OF PYM
Members of the Ministry for Racial Justice and Equality in the Religious Society of Friends sent letters to Meetings last fall, offering a visit from the group to share about the ministry. They have scheduled visits to Woodstown Meeting (NJ), Third Haven Meeting (MD) and Fallsington Meeting (PA).  This Ministry is a PYM working group under the care of the Worship and Care Standing Committee. The group seeks to travel among Friends, with a shared concern for our beloved Religious Society of Friends, to help it be the place of love and care for all who seek it.  Visit our website: www.pym.org/pym_wgs/racialjustice_wg.php  or search for [PYM Ministry racism].  You can email the group at pym.friendsnrace@gmail.com to arrange a visit.

For information email QLConf@aol.com or visit http://qlcnews.blogspot.com  An announcement from the organizers says, "The Quaker Lesbian Conference exists to be a loving time and space in which self-defined women (including those who are transgendered) who are Quaker or familiar with Quakerism, and who are lesbian, bisexual, or moving towards those identities, can connect with Spirit and with each other. We envision a community in which each woman shares worship, spiritual exploration and loving relationships in an environment that embraces diversity, individual leadings, struggle, and play."

JOIN QUAKER PILGRIMAGE TO ENGLAND IN 2010
PYM's Education Standing Committee invites you to join next year's Quaker Pilgrimage to England, an 8-day trip in late June 2010.  Join trip leaders Irene McHenry (Millville Meeting, PA) and Sarah Sweeney-Denham (Germantown Meeting, PA), both staff of the Friends Council on Education, to experience the roots of the Religious Society of Friends. Plans are underway for a 2010 Quaker Pilgrimage, exploring England's "1652 Country" with a guide from Britain Yearly Meeting.  We expect the cost for  8-day Pilgrimage to be in the range of $1600-$1800 per person. This includes all room and board, local bus travel to historic sites, guides, site entry fees, etc. It does not include airfare. Some financial aid is available.  We will create the schedule, set the fee and open registration by September 2009, at which time participants will reserve a space with a non-refundable deposit of $500 per person. To indicate interest (or to ask questions), please contact Sarah@friendscouncil.org or (215) 241-7245 by May 31, 2009.
