For more info. on our curriculum scroll down.
Our young people participate in the first half hour of worship, sitting with their parents and other adults in the Meeting house.  They depart to individual groups of instruction until 11:00.  The Upper Group's session is longer, running until 11:15.  Once a month we have school first, then go into Meeting so that we can hear the afterthoughts and announcements.  In the summer months, we offer informal activities, such as reading groups, interviewing Meeting members, or playground time.

First Day School
2007-2008 Curriculum

This year in FDS we are concentrating on Quakerism and the work of John Woolman.  The Middle and Upper Levels will use the John Woolman curriculum.  There are five sections, which can be used for five or more lessons.

John Woolman was an 18th century Quaker from Mt. Holly, West Jersey.  He is best known for his life-long work to end slavery.   He was a source of inspiration to the emerging abolitionists of his day, and continues to inspire readers today.
